(Excelsior Springs, MO) -- Four people are behind bars this morning in connection with the kidnapping and death of a northern Missouri woman.

Excelsior Springs police say they found a body in rural Ray County Thursday.

The description matches Carol Thomas, 23, of Independence.

Officers say Thomas was kidnapped Wednesday night.  The body has not been positively identified.

Two men and two women are now in custody.  Formal charges have not been filed.
