Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 @05:07am CST (Little Rock, AR) -- Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe says he's concerned about a law that bans unmarried couples from becoming foster or adoptive parents. The Associated Press says Beebe is worried about the impact it may have on kids who need a home. Voters approved the measure a year ago. More than a dozen families have sued the state. Beebe says he thinks adoptions should be handled individually. Government officials say they don't know if the ban is limiting the number of homes kids could be placed in. |
