Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @08:49pm CST A staggering amount of stolen items was discovered on a property in western Missouri.
Commercial vehicles, farm equipment, construction tools and industrial appliances were scattered across two acres and inside the home in Missouri City. Investigators even found six railroad containers lining the street, possibly to hide the large stash. Authorities made the discovery Tuesday while responding to a neighbor's complaint that the property owners shot at her dog. The Clay County Sheriff's Department estimates the stolen items are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and has begun tracing the rightful owners. Investigators say the home was in unsanitary and decrepit condition with an eight-year-old child living inside, and a python roaming loose. Social Services removed the child and placed it with a relative. A woman living at the home was arrested, but a man who fled the scene remains at large. |
