Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @08:13am CST (Springfield, MO) -- Heating season is coming, but you don't have to burn through your bank account to stay warm. A lot of us would love to have a solar-powered home or maybe a wind turbine in the backyard. Unfortunately, those items are expensive. Here's the good news: You can do little things that will really add up. The Sierra Club is hosting a "No-Cost, Low-Cost Energy Savers" program next Tuesday, November 10. That's set for 7:00 pm at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center. Jeff Barber will host the program. He's a housing and environmental design specialist for the University of Missouri. Barber will talk about easy things you can do yourself like building a simple "draft dodger" to block air leaks around doors and windows. That free program is next Tuesday, November 10 at 7:00 pm at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center. |
