  • Voters Deciding Big Money Issues Today

    Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @10:26am CST

Polling places around the Ozarks are open today with school bonds, sales taxes, water bonds and library levies to be decided.

In Springfield, voters are deciding on two big money issues.
A three quarter cent police/fire pension sales tax increase is on the ballot, along with a $50 million bond issue for the R-12 school district.

Some voters were out early this morning to cast their votes.  "We've got some serious problems that need to be taken care of. So I think it's time to let us, let it go," said voter Joe East.

"The main reason I'm here is for the bond issue, but, of course, I'll vote on all of them," added voter  Rene Saner.

Voters in Christian County will decide a library tax levy increase.  Republic public schools has a $6.5 million bond issue on the ballot today.  Sales taxes will be decided in Aurora and Purdy, and a number of other issues are on city and school ballots today.
