Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @04:28am CST (Los Angeles, CA) -- The Anti-Defamation League is set to honor director Steven Spielberg this December. "Variety" reports that the Oscar-winner will receive America's Democratic Legacy Award from the organization at a December 9th gala in Beverly Hills. The ADL lauded the 62-year-old filmmaker as a, quote, "true champion of human rights." The organization's National Executive Director Abraham Foxman will present the award to Spielberg. "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert and Israeli singer Noa Dori are scheduled to perform at the event at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Anti-Defamation League describes itself as a civil rights and human relations agency that fights anti-Semitism, all forms of bigotry and defends the protects civil rights for all.
