Bill Bridges Gap In Jet Shortage

Key legislation that addresses the nation's dangerous fighter aircraft shortage is waiting for Presidential approval.
The Defense Authorization Bill will allow the military to purchase Super Hornets.
Those jets will bridge the gap until the F-35 is available.
Without this bill, US Senator Kit Bond says the Navy would be short about 250 fighter jets over the next ten years.
That's equivalent to about five empty carrier decks.
If approved, the bill would save about 28,000 Missouri jobs that help build the Super Hornets.
