It's been a year in the works, and now there's a new addition at Springfield's Abou Ben Adhem temple.
Members unveiled the nine foot, one inch statue this afternoon..
It's an image of a Shriner carrying a child, and it's the universal symbol between the Shriners Fraternal Organization and the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
More than 300 people helped make the project possible.
Those who donated 100 dollars got their named carved in the granite.
"I think it's going to be something that we, not only Shriners, but the people of southwest Missouri can be proud of," says Jeff Lee, Potentate of the Abou Ben Adhem Temple. "It stands for what we stand for. And that's our Shriners Hospital for children."
Lee says their original goal for the statue was $30,000, but they ended up with almost double that, $55,000.
