Springtime means spring cleaning for many Californians, but what consumers may not know is the cleaning products they buy could be making them sick. That's why a grassroots movement is underway to reduce exposure to toxic chemicals in the home. Dori Gilels with Women Voices for the Earth says green cleaning parties are taking place across the state. The non-toxic cleaners are made using everyday household items like vinegar and baking soda. California law does not require manufacturers to list the ingredients in most household cleaning products, but a Senate bill making its way through the state Legislature would require manufacturers list the ingredients on their websites.
