(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Cardinals are going green just in time for opening day.
  
Workers from the St. Patrick's Center employment program will be standing outside the stadium collecting cans and other recyclable items in large silver containers.
  
Fans are asked to help by placing their cans, glasses and other trash in the appropriate container.
  
The Cardinals are one of the first Major League Baseball teams to begin a recycling program outside the stadium.
