Reported by: Dan Lucy Friday, Nov 20, 2009 @05:11am CST (Springfield, MO) -- The Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish and Bolivar Liberators will represent the Ozarks this weekend in St. Louis at the Missouri State High School Soccer Championships. This will be Bolivar's third trip to the Final Four, but the first in a decade. This is the second straight year that the Fighting Irish made it to the state semifinals. Last year Catholic took third in Class 1. This year's team is 18-and-4 and ranked third in the state. Irish coach Joe Kofron says his team is ready for Kennedy High out of St. Louis. "It's nice knowing that we're going to get back there with a little experience. Last year we got there and didn't really know what to expect. I think the guys were just happy to be there. This year they have a different goal in mind, they want to get to that final." "We know it wasn't going to be easy going back again. It's pretty much a once in a lifetime thing, so it's pretty nice to get back and be able play again," says Irish senior Justin Bowenschulte. "We've been very consistent this year. We really haven't had that bad game. Hopefully we won't have it this weekend of course. I think that's really going to carry over to bringing that experience out on Friday," Kofron adds. The State Semifinal Schedule: Class 2 - Bolivar plays Cape Girardeau Notre Dame at 11 in the morning While in class one, Catholic and Kennedy go at noon. Class 1 - Catholic and Kennedy play at noon.
