Military Order of the Loyal Legion
Missouri Commandery

The Military Order of the Loyal Legion exists to foster military and naval science, promote allegiance to the United States government, perpetuate the memory of those who fought to preserve and unity and indivisibility of the Republic, and to honor the memory and promote the ideals of President Abraham Lincoln.

Membership is limited generally to direct male descendants of commissioned officers in the U.S. Military services during the War of the Rebellion.

Mr. Appleby, a descendant of First Lieutenant Arthur Charles Crain, 8th Missouri Cavalry, currently serves as the Judge Advocate and Treasurer for the Missouri Commandery.
