    National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution

    The Sons of the American Revolution is an organization dedicated to perpetuating the people and events of the American Revolution, to maintaining the institutions of American freedom, and to promoting fellowship among the descendants of Revolutionary War Patriots.

    The SAR is a democratic nonpartisan, nonsectarian organization. Membership is limited, however, to males of good character that are lineal descendants from a Patriot of the American Revolution.

    Mr. Appleby, a direct descendant of patriots William Appleby (PA), David McCurdy (PA) and Thomas Amis (NC), has served as President of the Missouri Society and the Ozark Mountain Chapter and currently serves as the Chancellor General of the National Society.
