Reported by: Sonya Kullmann Monday, Feb 18, 2008 @07:29am CST ![]() Missouri Governor Matt Blunt talked about implementing a "B-5" standard in his state of the state address, and now he's trying to get that through the legislature. Senate Bill 759 would mandate that all diesel fuel in the state contain at least five percent bio-diesel by April 1, 2010. In addition to that, the governor is calling for new laws to get Missourians to use more alternative fuel. He's backing a plan that would give you a tax deduction for buying a qualified hybrid vehicle, and tax credits if you buy e-85 fuel, which contains 85-percent corn-based ethanol. Blunt also wants to offer tax incentives to businesses that install the necessary equipment to sell e-85 fuel. It can still be tricky to find, particularly in more rural areas of the state. |
