It means automobiles, like rv's are getting some extra mileage. RV rentals are up 11 percent. About 18 million Americans are traveling in them rather than cars. It's all part of the stay-cation mentality. Families parked in the Ozarks this weekend say it's the way to travel. Tracy Strumph said "we save money because we don't eat out. We do the cooking here. It's good family time. You don't sit in front of the TV. It's a lot more family interactive." Campground owners say while most plates are from out of state, this year they're seeing more local licenses. |
