Thursday, Jan 10, 2008 @09:28pm CST Some in the Ozarks started off the new year by being a little greener. Many showed up for a recycling drive sponsored by the Computer Recycling Center and KOLR10.People brought in cell phones, keyboards, VCR's, computer scanners and batteries. Workers at the Computer Recycling Center made the drop-off easy by unloading vehicles. It was all free with the exception of a $20 fee for TV's. The Computer Recycling Center says it set a record for the amount of e-waste it collected on Thursday. "We're estimating we've exceeded all our e-waste we've received in the last six and a half years. We're estimating we received somewhere between 13 and 15 tons." says John Missildine, Computer Recycling Center. The Computer Recycling Center is located at 1434 North National and its regular hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is free to drop off your e-waste anytime, however the $20 fee does still apply for TV's. |
