Ozarks women get to see the sights of the season in style. The
women of the Victory House were chauffeured across Springfield in a stretch
limo to check out Christmas lights around town. And
arrangements were even made for their kids to be looked after. Each
lady also had a makeover, complete with new hairstyle and evening dress. Some
of the women won't be spending the holidays with family and say this was
something special to help fill that void. “A
lot of us have never been to our prom,” says resident Dana Sexton. “A lot of us have never gotten to dress up
like women, and it just, it does. It makes you feel feminine for the first time
in years if not ever for some of us.” The
Victory House is an outreach center for women in need of housing. It is run by
the Springfield Victory Mission. This
is the third year for the event. |
