Thursday, Dec 20, 2007 @05:25pm CST One of the most memorable gifts for
any kids on Christmas is a brand-new bicycle. And now every student at Boyd Elementary
knows just how it feels to get one. Central Assembly of God Church delivered
the gifts during an assembly at the school on Thursday. Members of the church bought 170 new
sets of wheels for boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade. Church members say they wanted to do
their part to promote physical fitness. “It was very difficult for me to
keep quiet, honestly,” says principal James Grandon. “We’ve been working on this for almost a year
to make all this come together. And it's
been a few key people with a vision and a dream and here's the reality." The students also got matching
helmets, which were donated by Aaron Sachs and Associates. They' showed off the bikes in a
short parade down |
