Sunday, Dec 16, 2007 @09:36pm CST It was a late night for Springfield fire crews working to keep a blaze from spreading down Commercial Street. Crews say this fire started around 11:00p.m. last night at Cotton's Construction in north Springfield. Harsh weather worsened conditions for firefighters who stayed on scene almost 5 hours to contain the flames. No one was inside at the time of the emergency and no one was injured during the burn. However, crews say other buildings were in jeopardy, but never caught on fire. The roof at the construction company collapsed, adding fuel to the blaze and making the investigation more difficult. Authorities are not giving a cause for the fire at this point. |
