An overnight fire destroys one family's home southeast of Springfield.

It happened in the 5700 block of South Ramsgate shortly before midnight.

Logan-Rogersville, Ozark and Battlefield fire departments responded to the call.

Neighbors say they think the fire started in the garage, but the house was destroyed.

Josh Trammell, a young neighbor says he heard some loud popping sounds and went out on his own balcony to explore.

"We saw this red glow coming from inside his garage and we heard more glass breaking and so we heard our neighbor say "everybody get out" and as soon as we got out the flame got even bigger."

Firefighters on the scene said there were at least two adults in that home when the fire began. They were able to make it out safely.  The cause of the fire has not been released yet.
