Saturday, Nov 3, 2007 @09:58pm CDT A local family is turning it's medical need into a support system for others. A crowd of Ozarks kids with craniofacial disorders, like cleft palates, came together for games, food and the chance to forget that they're patients. It's part of an event through an organization called AboutFace. A local family has two children with cleft palates, so wanted to start Organizer Angelia Ham, "so that no one feels like they're alone or has to go through it alone. We've been there twice and if we can share that with any other parents or families then that's what we want to do, is make sure they have what they need to make good decisions about their care for their kids." There are reportedly about 100 families with craniofacial needs in southwest Missouri. You can find more information on AboutFace by visiting the organization's website at http://www.aboutfaceusa.org |
