Event Details:The RSVP Reading Buddy Program, an operating agency of the Council of Churches, is registering adults, 55 and older, to serve as reading tutors in elementary schools in Springfield and surrounding communities. Reading Buddies go once a week and read one-on-one with their student at the school. It is a hour committment for the school year. The classroom teachers supply the reading material.
Training will be held September 17, 2009, 9:00-11:00 a.m. or September 22, 2009, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Council of Churches. Preregistration is required by calling 831-9696.
