Event Details:
We package a well balanced vegetarian meal for those less fortunate. Help package food for the hungry in a very organized and structured environment. Children as young as 5 can help if accompanied by an adult. There are 5 jobs -- Packaging: One involves 4 people at a table – each add one cup/spoon of product to a bag (eventually will make the meal). Weighing: Next step is weighing the bags to make sure they are proper for the FDA requirements. Sealing: Next is Sealing where we try to remove as much air as possible and seal the bag. Boxing: Next 36 bags are loaded into a box and taped shut for shipping. Restock: Also people help re-stock rice and soy so the packaging can continue uninterrupted and also it prepares us for the next session. Clean up: Normally several help with this at the end --- At about 10-15 minutes before we finish we start to clean up and pick up rice and stuff that had made it’s way to the floor or table.
